  • What is a NAM Delegate?
A NAM Delegate is a "representative" of the National Apostolate - a "sales rep" for NAM and is also a “representative” of the local parish or mission – a “voice” for that community, relaying any ideas or opinions of the pastor and parishioners. In short, the delegate is a most important link between the “national” and the “local.” Each Parish/Community is represented by 2 delegates who are appointed by the Clergy that have been a member of NAM for the previous year. The primary goal of the delegate is to promote the works and goals of NAM within their parish. The role of the delegate is essential since NAM is a non-profit organization that relies on the ground level for constant support, growth and enhancement.

Why should YOU be a delegate?
Being a NAM Delegate gives you an opportunity to represent your local parish or mission and to serve on a national level, thus expanding your “Maronite Horizon.” You would experience the larger environment that makes up the Maronite Church and would interact with many fellow-Maronites – laity and clergy – from all over the country. If you are an effective delegate your parish can experience a new dimension of the Maronite Church. And, if you’re so inclined, your service as a NAM Delegate can become a stepping-stone to serving on the NAM Board of Directors.

What does a NAM Delegate do?
ü      Maintain and expand local membership
    ü      NAM point of contact
    ü      Coordinate NAM Awareness Sunday
ü      Promote NAM Programs within their parishes
ü      Act as voice of Parish laity at the national & regional conventions
ü      Attend National Convention (recommended, not mandatory)
ü      Elect Regional Vice President at National Convention
ü      Attend National Convention (recommended, not mandatory)
ü      Advise the national office of any major events at the parish
ü      Work closely with the Regional Vice President

    OUTSTANDING DELEGATES 2009
Our delegates are the messengers of NAM to their parishes and they represent their parish within NAM. Their hard work continues all year round where they promote all of the NAM projects at their churches. Many of them participate in the planning and the work at retreats, regional and national conventions.

This year we wanted to recognize delegates who exceed in their hard work and dedication. On Friday evenings during the national conventions, the Regional Vice Presidents will honor a delegate that has done outstanding work for the year.

Congratulations to all the winners and hope to have many more like them so NAM will continue to flourish for years to come.
